Yarn Y23107 Hand Spun Art Yarn, spiral ply with beehives, autumn colours

This is a dynamite yarn in design providing incredible texture and strength.  Autumn colours of muted gold, burgundy, green, purples, rust, and orange are spiral plied onto a soft green 100% core.  Beehives pop up organically and are a gorgeous addition to this yarn.

This skein is a colour match to Y23108 and these two would be lovely used together in one creation showcasing the mix in textures achieved through spin style.

The skein is 55 yards in length and weighs 2.9 ounces. 

Very fine Merino wool (19 micron or finer) is super soft and suitable for next-to-skin use.

The fibres I use are carefully selected from companies who process wool from Mulesing Free farms.  The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100, and is done in a processing area that is both GOTS and GRS certified.  High standards of consideration to sustainability and low environmental impact are important to me but not more-so than ensuring that the animals that provide their wool are treated in the kindest and most humane manner possible.

Art yarns are organic in nature and most often used in modern woven tapestries but also make lovely additions to knitted items and other crafts where unique textures and colours are desired.  Get creative and add some to your own craft.

Everything in my shop is personally hand-made by me with attention to selecting a cohesive variety of yarns providing an assortment of textures that is as appealing to the eye as it is to the touch.  All items are one of a kind and will bear the idiosyncrasies of creative human error.

I am based in Canada.  For US and International customers, you may prefer to select an upgraded shipping method.  While this will cost more up front, it provides you with tracking features, peace of mind, and insurance should your item be lost or damaged during shipment.

Your purchase may be shipped vacuum packed along with instructions to puff it up once it arrives.  Smallish items are sent in envelopes, when possible, to keep shipping costs low and keep our carbon footprint in check.

Care Instructions for your yarn - Work gently with art yarns as the natural fibers and hand made characteristics provide a delicate yarn.  If using a portion of the skein, ensure to knot at each end to avoid unravelling.
